Richard III (King of England)

Richard III was the King of England from 1483 until his death in 1485. He was the last monarch of the Plantagenet dynasty and is often remembered for his controversial reputation, shaped largely by Shakespeare’s portrayal of him as a villain. His reign was marked by political turmoil and power struggles within the English nobility. Richard was defeated at the Battle of Bosworth Field, which ended the Wars of the Roses, leading to the rise of the Tudor dynasty. His remains were discovered in 2012 in Leicester, bringing renewed interest in his life and legacy.
