Richard B. Myers is a retired four-star general in the United States Air Force who served as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2001 to 2005. In this role, he was the highest-ranking military officer in the U.S. and advised the President, Secretary of Defense, and National Security Council on military matters. Myers has also held other important positions, including the commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM). His career is marked by leadership during significant events such as the September 11 attacks.
