Richard A. McCoy

Richard A. McCoy was an American criminal known for hijacking airplanes, most notably in the 1970s. He carried out a series of aircraft hijackings, claiming to want ransom money, but his actions gained significant media attention and concern about airline security. McCoy's hijackings were often inspired by or compared to those of D.B. Cooper, another infamous hijacker. His criminal activities ended when he was captured and convicted. McCoy's case highlighted vulnerabilities in airline security practices and contributed to changes in protocols to prevent similar crimes.
