RICE Protocol

The RICE Protocol is a treatment approach for minor injuries like sprains and strains. It stands for Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Rest means avoiding activities that worsen the injury; Ice helps reduce swelling and pain; Compression involves wrapping the area with an elastic bandage to limit swelling; Elevation means raising the injured part above heart level to decrease fluid buildup. This method helps minimize damage, control pain, and promote faster healing. It’s a common first step in managing injuries and is simple to apply at home.
