Rib Fractures

Rib fractures occur when one or more of the bones (ribs) that protect the chest are broken, often due to trauma like a fall or impact. These fractures can cause chest pain, especially when breathing deeply or coughing. They may lead to difficulty breathing or risk of lung injury if displaced. Treatment typically involves pain management, rest, and avoiding strenuous activity to allow healing. In some cases, more severe fractures or multiple ribs may require medical interventions, but most people recover fully with proper care and time.
