Rhea Silvia

Rhea Silvia is a figure from Roman mythology, best known as the mother of Romulus and Remus, the legendary founders of Rome. According to the myth, she was a vestal virgin, meaning she took a vow of chastity to serve the goddess Vesta. Rhea Silvia was said to have been impregnated by the god Mars, resulting in the birth of the twins. To protect them from a jealous king, the twins were abandoned and later discovered by a she-wolf, who nurtured them. Their story is central to Rome's founding myth and highlights themes of destiny and divine intervention.
