RFC and RNAS Merger
The RFC (Royal Flying Corps) and RNAS (Royal Naval Air Service) were two separate British military aviation branches during World War I. In 1918, they merged to form the Royal Air Force (RAF), creating the world's first independent air force. This merger unified army and naval air operations, improving coordination, efficiency, and strategic capabilities. It marked a significant step in the development of modern military airpower and established the RAF as a distinct branch responsible for all aerial warfare in the UK.
