Rex Tillerson is an American businessman and former government official known for his role as CEO of ExxonMobil, one of the world's largest oil and gas companies, from 2006 to 2016. Under his leadership, ExxonMobil focused on global energy production and expansion. In early 2017, he was appointed as Secretary of State under President Donald Trump, where he dealt with international relations and diplomacy. Tillerson’s tenure at both ExxonMobil and in government has been marked by an emphasis on energy policies and U.S. interests in foreign affairs. He left the State Department in 2018 amid significant political changes.
