Revolución de Ayutla
The Revolución de Ayutla was a political uprising in Mexico, beginning in 1854, aimed at overthrowing the dictatorial government of President Antonio López de Santa Anna. It was driven by opposition groups advocating for more democratic governance, the reduction of church and military power, and removal of corrupt leaders. The revolution successfully led to the fall of Santa Anna and resulted in the drafting of the Liberal Reform Laws, which sought to modernize Mexico’s political and social system. This movement was a pivotal step toward establishing a more democratic and less authoritarian Mexico in the mid-19th century.
