REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates program)

The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program is a competitive scholarship initiative funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) that provides undergraduate students with hands-on research opportunities in various scientific fields. Participants work closely with experienced researchers on real-world projects, gaining practical skills, deeper knowledge, and professional connections. The goal is to enhance students’ understanding of their chosen discipline, prepare them for graduate studies or careers in science and engineering, and promote diversity and inclusion within the scientific community. Typically, REU programs last several weeks during the summer or academic year.
