resuscitation algorithms

Resuscitation algorithms are step-by-step guidelines used by responders to help someone who isn't breathing or has no pulse. Typically, they involve checking responsiveness, calling for emergency help, and starting chest compressions to keep blood flowing. If the person is unresponsive and not breathing normally, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is performed—pushing hard and fast on the chest. If an automated external defibrillator (AED) is available, it's used to deliver a shock to restore a normal heart rhythm. The goal is to maintain circulation and increase the chance of survival until professional medical help arrives.
