Residency Review Committees (RRCs)
Residency Review Committees (RRCs) are specialized panels within medical accreditation organizations that evaluate and oversee residency training programs in various medical specialties. Their primary role is to ensure these programs meet established educational standards, provide high-quality training, and prepare residents for independent practice. RRCs review program curriculum, faculty qualifications, facilities, and resident assessments. They conduct periodic evaluations and can approve, recommend improvements, or, in some cases, disapprove programs if standards are not met. Their oversight helps maintain consistency, quality, and safety in medical education nationwide.
