Residency Match Week
Residency Match Week is an annual process in which medical school graduates find out where they will complete their specialized training after graduation. During this week, students submit applications to hospitals, interview, and rank their preferences. Hospitals also rank their preferred candidates. A computer algorithm then matches students to residency programs based on these preferences, aiming to create mutually satisfactory placements. The week culminates with students learning their placements, marking an important milestone in their medical careers as they transition from students to practicing physicians in their chosen specialty.
