Research Library Group (RLG)
The Research Library Group (RLG) was an organization that brought together major research libraries and cultural institutions to collaborate on sharing knowledge, resources, and expertise. Its goal was to improve access to information, preserve cultural artifacts, and support research advancements. RLG facilitated the development of shared digital collections, standards, and tools, helping member institutions manage vast amounts of data more effectively. In 2010, RLG merged with OCLC, a global library cooperative, to strengthen resource sharing and innovation in the library and information science community.
