Research Libraries Group (RLG)

The Research Libraries Group (RLG) was a collaborative organization that brought together major research libraries to share resources, expertise, and technology. Its goal was to improve access to scholarly materials through joint projects like catalogs, digital collections, and information management systems. By working together, member libraries could better preserve and provide access to valuable academic and cultural resources, enhancing research and learning. RLG operated from 1974 until it merged with OCLC in 2010, integrating its initiatives into a larger global library network.
