Research Libraries Group
The Research Libraries Group (RLG) was an organization founded in 1974 that aimed to improve access to library resources through collaboration. It brought together major research libraries to share catalogs, digitize collections, and develop standards for information management. By working together, member libraries could better preserve and provide access to vast amounts of research materials. RLG played a key role in advancing library technology and resource sharing until it merged with other organizations in 2010 to form OCLC Research, continuing its mission of enhancing research library services globally.
