Republic of Srpska
The Republic of Srpska is one of two constitutional entities within Bosnia and Herzegovina, established as part of the Dayton Accords in 1995 to end its civil war. It primarily comprises areas with a Serb majority and has its own government, laws, and police, operating under the country's constitutional framework. While part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it maintains a degree of autonomy, with significant responsibilities in areas like education and security. The entity reflects the country’s diverse ethnic composition and political structure, aiming to balance interests among Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs within a unified state.
