Reproduction Theory

Reproduction Theory explores how individuals and societies reproduce social structures, values, and norms across generations. It examines the ways in which cultural, economic, and social factors influence the transmission of roles, identities, and power patterns from one generation to the next. Essentially, it looks at how social continuity occurs, maintaining stability while also allowing for change, by analyzing institutions like family, education, and media. The theory helps us understand how societal expectations and inequalities persist over time and how they can be challenged or reinforced through various processes of cultural reproduction.
