Representatives

Representatives are elected officials who serve as the voice of their constituents— the people in their district or area— in a legislative body, such as Congress. They help create, amend, and pass laws, and work to address the needs and concerns of those they represent. In the U.S., Members of the House of Representatives are chosen every two years, with the number from each state based on population. They act as a link between the public and the government, ensuring citizens’ interests are considered in the lawmaking process.
