Remainders

A remainder is what’s left over after dividing one number by another when the division doesn’t result in a whole number. For example, if you divide 13 by 4, the quotient is 3 (because 4 fits into 13 three times), and the remainder is 1, since 13 minus (4 times 3) equals 1. Remainders are useful in counting, grouping items, or solving problems where exact division isn't possible. They show what's left after distributing evenly, helping to understand division beyond just whole numbers.
