Relenza
Relenza (zanamivir) is an antiviral medication used to treat influenza (the flu). It works by blocking a key enzyme the virus needs to multiply, helping to reduce the severity and duration of flu symptoms. Usually inhaled through the nose using a special device, Relenza is most effective when taken within the first 48 hours of symptoms appearing. It is used for treating active flu infections and can also help prevent the flu in people exposed to the virus. It is generally well-tolerated, but should be used under medical supervision.
