Reichswehr Cavalry
The Reichswehr Cavalry was the cavalry branch of Germany’s military during the Weimar Republic era (1919–1935). Its role was to provide rapid, mobile units capable of reconnaissance, flank protection, and offensive or defensive maneuvers on the battlefield. The cavalry used horses and mounted tactics, emphasizing agility and speed. Despite the limitations imposed by the Treaty of Versailles, the Reichswehr maintained a professional, smaller horse-mounted force as part of its overall military structure, which later integrated mechanized units as warfare evolved.
