Regulation FD

Regulation FD (Fair Disclosure) is a rule that requires publicly traded companies to share important financial information with all investors simultaneously, rather than releasing it to select individuals or groups first. This aims to prevent insiders or select investors from gaining an unfair advantage by having early access to company news. For example, if a company announces a bad earnings report, it must do so in a way that all investors receive the information at the same time, ensuring transparency and a level playing field in financial markets.
