Image for regions of interest (ROIs)

regions of interest (ROIs)

Regions of Interest (ROIs) are specific areas within a larger image or dataset that are selected for focused analysis or examination. For example, in medical imaging, an ROI might be a particular part of an organ that doctors want to study more closely. In computer vision, ROIs help algorithms concentrate on important parts of an image, such as a face or a landmark, to improve accuracy and efficiency. Essentially, ROIs allow us to zero in on the most relevant sections of complex visual information, making analysis more targeted and effective.
