Regions and Availability Zones
Regions are large geographic areas where cloud providers, like AWS, set up data centers. Each region contains multiple Availability Zones, which are separate physical locations with their own power, cooling, and networking. Think of a region as a city and each zone as a distinct neighborhood within that city. This setup allows for better reliability and disaster recovery, as data and services can be distributed across zones. If one zone experiences an issue, others in the same region can continue functioning, ensuring services remain available and resilient.
