Regional Meteorological Organizations
Regional Meteorological Organizations (RMOs) are collaborative groups of countries within a specific geographic area that work together to monitor, forecast, and share weather and climate information. They enhance regional weather prediction accuracy, support disaster preparedness, and promote data exchange among member nations. RMOs often coordinate efforts during extreme weather events, improve understanding of regional climate patterns, and develop common standards and technologies. Examples include the Caribbean Meteorological Organization and the South Asian Meteorological Association. These organizations help countries better understand and respond to weather and climate challenges through shared expertise and resources.
