Regional Government of Spain
The Regional Governments of Spain, known as Autonomous Communities, are semi-autonomous administrative divisions that have their own governments, parliaments, and competencies. Established to acknowledge Spain's diverse regions and cultures, they handle local matters such as education, health, transportation, and culture. While the central government in Madrid maintains authority over national matters, these regions have significant self-governance, allowing them to adapt policies to local needs. The structure promotes regional identity while maintaining Spain’s unity, with each Autonomous Community operating under its own statute of autonomy within the framework of the Spanish Constitution.
