Regional Council of Poitou-Charentes
The Regional Council of Poitou-Charentes was an elected governing body responsible for regional affairs in the Poitou-Charentes area of France (now part of Nouvelle-Aquitaine). It managed regional budgets, development projects, transportation, education, and cultural initiatives. Comprising regional councilors elected by residents, the council set policies to promote economic growth and improve residents' quality of life. In 2016, Poitou-Charentes was merged into the larger Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, and the council was dissolved, with its functions integrated into the new regional administration.
