Regional Anaesthesia

Regional anesthesia is a medical technique used to numb a specific part of the body to prevent pain during surgery or procedures. Instead of affecting the entire body like general anesthesia, it targets nerves in a particular area, such as an arm or leg, by injecting anesthesia near nerve clusters. This numbing lasts for the duration of the procedure and allows the person to stay awake and comfortable. It’s commonly used for procedures like childbirth, as well as surgeries on limbs and the lower abdomen. Regional anesthesia reduces the need for systemic medications and often results in fewer side effects.
