Refugee and Asylum Seeking
Refugees are individuals who are forced to leave their home country due to threats like war, persecution, or violence, and seek safety elsewhere. Asylum seekers are people who have arrived in a foreign country and are requesting official protection, fearing harm if they return home. While all refugees may seek asylum, not all asylum seekers are granted refugee status; their claims are reviewed to determine eligibility. Both processes aim to protect those whose safety is at risk, but refugees typically obtain legal status through recognized international frameworks, whereas asylum seekers wait for official approval in the host country.
