Refugee and Asylum Seeker

A refugee is someone who flees their home country due to a well-founded fear of persecution based on attributes like race, religion, or political opinion, and is unable to return safely. An asylum seeker, on the other hand, is someone who has left their home country and seeks international protection, but their application for refugee status is still being processed. Essentially, all refugees are asylum seekers, but not all asylum seekers are granted refugee status. Both groups often seek safety and a chance for a better life but face different legal statuses and processes.
