Reformasi
Reformasi refers to a political movement in Indonesia that emerged in 1998, demanding significant changes to end authoritarian rule under President Suharto. It aimed to promote democracy, accountability, and transparency, addressing issues like corruption, nepotism, and human rights abuses. The movement was driven by widespread public dissatisfaction and led to Suharto’s resignation. Since then, Reformasi has contributed to democratic reforms, including free elections, decentralization of power, and stronger civil liberties, shaping Indonesia’s transition toward a more open and accountable government.
