Reflex Arc Theory
The Reflex Arc Theory explains how the body responds quickly to stimuli through a simple neural pathway. When a sensory receptor detects a stimulus (like heat or pain), it sends an electrical signal through a sensory neuron to the spinal cord or brain. Here, the signal is processed, and a motor response is generated by a motor neuron. This response is then sent to muscles or glands to produce an action, such as pulling your hand away from a hot object. This process happens automatically and rapidly, without needing conscious thought.
