Reentry Permit

A Reentry Permit is an official document issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that allows lawful permanent residents (green card holders) to leave the United States for extended periods without losing their residency status. Typically, it’s used when a resident plans to be outside the U.S. for more than a year but less than two years. By obtaining this permit before leaving, the individual ensures they can return without facing issues regarding their permanent residency. It’s a way to protect their residency while they are temporarily abroad.
