reductive physicalism
Reductive physicalism is the philosophical idea that everything about the mind and consciousness can ultimately be explained by physical processes in the brain. It suggests that mental states—like thoughts, feelings, and experiences—are reducible to brain activity and can be fully understood through neuroscience and physics. In essence, it believes there are no fundamentally separate or non-physical aspects of the mind; instead, mental phenomena are just complex arrangements of physical matter. This view aims to unify our understanding of mind and body within the framework of the natural sciences.
