Red Panda

The red panda is a small mammal native to the Himalayas and southwestern China. It has a bushy tail, reddish-brown fur, and a friendly face with distinctive markings. Despite its name, it is only distantly related to the giant panda; it belongs to its own family, Ailuridae. Red pandas are arboreal, spending much of their time in trees, where they feed primarily on bamboo, but also eat fruits, berries, and small animals. They are solitary, mostly active at dusk and dawn, and are currently classified as endangered due to habitat loss and poaching.
