Red Lake Indian Reservation
The Red Lake Indian Reservation is a Native American reservation in northern Minnesota, home to the Red Lake Band of Chippewa. Covering roughly 900 square miles, it is one of the few reservations in the U.S. where the tribe has complete sovereignty over its land, laws, and government. The reservation's economy includes gaming, fishing, and natural resource management, and it has a strong cultural and spiritual heritage. Red Lake serves as both a home and a center for traditional practices, emphasizing self-governance and preserving Ojibwe language and customs.
