Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians
The Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians is a federally recognized Native American tribe located in northern Minnesota. They have their own government and treaty rights, managing their lands, resources, and programs for their members. The tribe’s reservation, the Red Lake Reservation, is unique because it is entirely owned and governed by the band, making it one of the few tribes with exclusive control over its lands. They have a rich cultural heritage rooted in the Chippewa (Ojibwe) traditions and actively work to preserve their language, traditions, and sovereignty while engaging in economic development and community well-being initiatives.
