Red Cliff (Battle of Red Cliffs)

The Battle of Red Cliffs, fought around 208-209 AD, was a decisive naval confrontation during China's late Han Dynasty. The northern warlord Cao Cao aimed to unify China, but his forces faced resistance from the southern allies Sun Quan and Liu Bei. Utilizing clever tactics, including setting fire to Cao Cao’s much larger fleet through strategic use of fire ships, the southern allies inflicted a significant defeat. This victory prevented Cao Cao's northern conquest, shaping the future political landscape and leading to the Three Kingdoms period. It remains a celebrated event for its strategic ingenuity and epic scale.
