Recovery School District

The Recovery School District (RSD) is a state-run program designed to improve struggling public schools by taking over their management. When a school faces persistent challenges, the RSD can assume control, implement new leadership, and make changes aimed at increasing student achievement. The goal is to transform failing schools into successful ones, often through measures like staff changes, curriculum reforms, and accountability standards.
