Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board

The Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board was a government agency created to oversee and ensure transparency in the use of federal recovery funds, mainly from the 2009 economic stimulus package. Its goal was to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse by tracking how the money was spent, identifying issues, and promoting accountability. The board reviewed project reports, analyzed data, and provided public access to information about recovery efforts. Although it closed in 2015, its work helped improve transparency and accountability in government spending during economic recovery efforts.
