Recognition in international law

Recognition in international law is when one country formally acknowledges the existence and sovereignty of another state or government. It involves accepting the legitimacy of a state's authority, enabling the recognized state to engage in diplomatic relations, treaties, and other interactions. Recognition can be explicit (formal declaration) or implicit (through actions). It is an important step that influences the legal relationships between states but does not necessarily mean full acceptance of all their internal policies. Recognition helps establish international order and clarifies diplomatic standing among nations.
