Rechazo

"Rechazo" is a medical term meaning "reject" and is commonly used to describe when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks a transplanted organ or tissue. Normally, the body recognizes the transplant as foreign and may try to eliminate it, leading to rejection. To prevent this, patients often take immunosuppressive medications. Rejection can occur at different times, ranging from shortly after the transplant to months or years later. Managing rejection involves closely monitoring the patient, adjusting medications, and addressing symptoms promptly to ensure the transplanted organ functions properly.
