Receive coils
Receive coils are specialized antennas used in medical imaging, particularly MRI scans, to detect the signals emitted by the body when exposed to magnetic fields. When the body is subjected to a strong magnetic field and radio waves, it produces faint signals that the receive coils pick up. These signals are then processed to create detailed images of internal structures. Think of receive coils as highly sensitive microphones that listen to the body's subtle signals, allowing doctors to diagnose medical conditions with clarity and precision. Different coils are designed for specific parts of the body to optimize image quality.
