Rebecca West

Rebecca West was a British writer, journalist, and feminist known for her influential works in the early to mid-20th century. Born in 1892, she gained prominence with her novel "The Fountain Overflows" and her significant non-fiction, including "Black Lamb and Grey Falcon," which explored Yugoslavian culture and politics. West was celebrated for her sharp prose and deep insights into social issues, including gender and politics. She was also an outspoken advocate for women's rights. Her contributions to literature and journalism earned her numerous accolades, including being made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1959.
