Reang people

The Reang people, also known as Bru, are an ethnic group mainly found in northeastern India and Bangladesh. They have their own language and cultural traditions, and many follow indigenous religions or Christianity. Traditionally, Reangs are involved in agriculture and weaving, maintaining a rich heritage of customs and festivals. Due to historical migration and displacement, especially in India’s Tripura and Mizoram states, some Reangs live as refugee communities. They value community ties, kinship, and cultural identity, and efforts are ongoing to preserve their language and traditions amid modern influences.
