Reality and the Mind

Reality is the actual state of the world around us—everything that exists independently of our thoughts. The mind is the inner system of thoughts, perceptions, and awareness that interprets and gives meaning to our experiences. While reality exists outside us, our understanding of it depends on the mind’s perceptions, which can be influenced by senses, beliefs, and perspectives. Essentially, reality is the external truth, and the mind is how we perceive and relate to that truth. Our experience of the world is a combination of actual facts and how our mind processes them.
