Real gases are gases that behave like ideal gases under certain conditions, but deviate from ideal behavior due to interactions between molecules and their actual sizes. Unlike ideal gases, which are assumed to have no interactions and point-sized particles, real gases account for attractions and finite sizes of molecules. These effects become significant at high pressures and low temperatures, where molecules are closer together.
