Reactive lymphoid hyperplasia

Reactive lymphoid hyperplasia is a benign, non-cancerous condition where lymph nodes or lymphoid tissue enlarge due to an immune response to infection, inflammation, or other stimuli. It involves the proliferation of lymphocytes, which are immune cells that help fight off disease. This reaction is a normal defensive process, indicating the immune system is active and responding appropriately. The enlargement typically resolves once the underlying cause is addressed. Unlike lymphoma, which is malignant, reactive lymphoid hyperplasia does not involve cancerous growths; it’s a temporary, adaptive response of the immune system.
