Reactive Armor
Reactive armor is a protective technology used on military vehicles to defend against explosive or shaped charge weapons, such as rockets and anti-tank missiles. It consists of interlocking plates equipped with explosives that activate upon impact. When a weapon strikes, the reactive armor detonates outward, disrupting and neutralizing the incoming explosive's energy before it penetrates the vehicle’s main armor. This dynamic response significantly reduces the weapon's effectiveness, enhancing the vehicle's survivability without adding substantial weight. Reactive armor is an advanced security measure that adapts quickly to threats, providing a critical layer of defense for armored vehicles in combat situations.
